Photovoltaic installation for the medical research centre (MRGC) of Gambia


Added value:

The objectives of the project were, on the one hand, to provide the centre with clean energy and stabilise the electricity grid, which suffered frequent cuts.
This installation was carried out solely by the team of 38 women of Fandema within the framework of the educational project of this association of Mbolo.

Knowledge transfer was one of the project’s main objectives; Azimut360 offered training to the installation team through online and face-to-face classes, which covered basic and advanced concepts on solar design, sizing, regulations, assembly of structures, electrical wiring, protection and operation and maintenance of the solar plant.

CO2:  199 Tons since start-up

Technical data:

501.33kWp installed in 16 roofs of two centres: Fajara and Keneba.

Annual production: 79.2 mWh generated in the first two months of operation.
