Llansà SA: a more sustainable present with solar self-consumption.
A New Industry Embracing Solar Photovoltaic Energy
Project led by: Llansà S.A.
Type of solution:
The implemented project is a self-consumption system with grid injection, designed to optimize the quarry’s energy consumption and reduce associated costs.
Technical Data:
⚡ 737.1 kWp of installed power
🔌 Nominal power of 608 kW
🔧 With 1,586 solar modules of 465 Wp
💡 Estimated annual production:
- Roof 1: 494,100 kWh/year
- Roofs 2 & 3: 936,579 kWh/year
📐 Occupied surface: 3,523.7 m²
Tasks Developed by Azimut 360:
The project included the complete design of the installation and infrastructure adaptation for photovoltaic implementation. Additionally, a new measurement center was designed alongside the undergrounding of the medium voltage line to enable the sale of energy surpluses to the electricity grid.
Added Value:
This initiative allows the quarry to modernize and transition towards more sustainable production. Self-consumption energy contributes to reducing energy costs and improving operational efficiency.
CO2 savings: 306.165Kg/year
Challenges:
The quarry extracts feldspar, a process that requires a significant amount of energy for raw material crushing. The project incorporated the removal of 3,500 m² of asbestos roofing, replacing it with a new roof, thereby contributing to the plant’s safety and sustainability.
Results:
With this project, the quarry has significantly reduced its energy expenses, increased operational efficiency, and established a future-proof infrastructure with a renewed and safe roof. This industry modernization marks a step forward toward more sustainable and environmentally friendly production.
